2015

Well, it's a new year, and I've been slow to change things as usual.  Welcome to my page.  For daily updates, see my Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/jdjacksonauthor

Otherwise, I'll be back here really soon.  Big things are coming...big things

Fanboy Expo was amazing as always!  I met some good people, found some cool things, and sold some amazing books.  Oh, and Barry Bostwick strolled by the booth and shook my hand unsolicited.  Doug Jones walked away witha  free copy of my book.  If you don't know this truly fantastic individual, you should IMDB him.  He's in everything.  Can't wait until next year!

Like most people. I appear to be failing in my New Year's resolution.  I'm here now, and I'm updating.  I have been hard at work on the magic book, and I have finished.  True, Amazing, Mystifying Magic should be available before the end of the year.

I'm working on a murder mystery called Antietam.  The same town will be the home to another of my works, a Southern literary novel that will probably be my best-written work.  I will have all four books here:

Come see me April 11-13 at Marble City Comicon in Knoxville!

Also, I will--once again--be at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville May 30th-June 1.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to edit my website more.  As you can see, I've failed miserably so far.   Here's to a better month and a better year and a better world.    The new magic book is in the editing stages and going really well.  I should have two appearances to announce in the very near future.  Here is a little taste of what I'm currently working on.  Hopefully this will makeup for my delay:

He sat up and realized that he was pretty much fine, and then he was laughing again, laughing and laughing, so hard and so loud that he didn’t notice the thing watching him, the thing with the knifelike teeth sticking out at odd intervals, the thing with the cruel empty eyes, the thing that must have weighed five hundred pounds.  When he did see it, his laughter instantly stopped.  He sucked in a deep breath of hot moist air and bolted upright quickly.  The action caused a growl to echo through the jungle from the monster’s sticky throat.  There was no other explanation.  He was in front of the rudibeast.

Sadly, Nashville Comic Con is finished!   I had a great time and met a lot of wonderful people.  I hate to see it come to an end.  Looking on to what's next, I have sometihing quite magical in mind...

Fandom Fest was amazing!  John Dawson Jackson was a huge success, appearing on three panels: The Quality Title, Alternate History, and Self-Publishing.  It was a great time for all!

If you haven't liked the Facebook author page yet, you are missing a behind the scenes of each book, one week at a time.  And coming up, an exclusive online story:

"Sometimes I look in the mirror, and I really don't recognize the person staring back. I guess that's a cliché now, something everyone says. It's cool. It's trendy. But for most, it isn't true. Most people aren't staring into the eyes of someone different every morning, someone who literally isn't the person they were when they went to sleep. I'm not most people. I'm adapting. I'm changing. I'm learning to roll with the punches. And real soon, I'm going to figure out what's been happening to me. I feel sorry for whoever did this. I feel sorry for his whole damn family."
